In this video DETERMIND researchers John Hammond and Ben Hicks, based at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, discuss their groundbreaking study on the diagnosis experiences of lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) people living with dementia. The study was recently published in the International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry. Here, John Hammond explains how he interviewed five people, diagnosed with dementia in the past year, and their partner carers. The interviews focused on their experiences of living with dementia, before, during and after diagnosis and any support services they accessed.
