Spotlight on LGBTQIA+ and dementia event

Author: Natalie Tawney

On the 25th February we teamed up with SPIN-Dementia Network Plus (SPIN-D), Innovations in Dementia, and Together in Dementia Everyday (tide) to host a very special event: ‘Spotlight on LGBTQIA+ and dementia: Exploring brain health and addressing inequities’.

Community organisations, people living with dementia, carers, clinicians, researchers and more, came together to share experiences, practice and knowledge and identify priorities for addressing inequalities faced by people living with dementia who identify as LGBTQ+.

Film-maker Louise Orton attended the event and helped capture key moments, insights, and reflections, and our very talented London team member Luce edited the interviews into a beautiful film of the day!

Read more about the day and it’s impact in this blog piece here: Reflection: High Impact at the Spotlight on LGBTQIA+ and dementia event.

The event organising team stood for a group photo. Some are standing and some kneeling in front. They are all looking towards the camera and smiling.
